EASTER SUNRISE CANTATA For more than fifty years the choir from Rocky Hill Baptist Church (Cedar Mountain, NC) has performed an Easter cantata at Symmes Chapel, better known as "Pretty Place", at the end of Solomon Jones Road. YMCA Camp Greenville is the caretaker of Pretty Place. Led by Lenoir Bishop, the cantata will be performed on Easter morning March 27th and. It will begin at around 6:30am. It is suggested that folks arrive by 6:00am in order to park at the ball field and catch the shuttle bus unless they wish to walk to the chapel. As is their custom, Camp Greenville will have a delicious buffet breakfast following the cantata, in their large dining room on the camp property. Dress warm and comfortable and come out for an enjoyable Easter morning.

AROUND THE HOUSE

Well I haven’t square danced since I was a teenager which was eons ago but I decided to go to the free classes for the exercise at least. I had a ball even though with the shortage of “guys” I had to pose as one. Seemed a little weird to be “swinging” another lady but hey, the instructor said if I learned the guy part I could dance at any square dance I went to. There is no lack of ladies. So come on down guys and swing a lady partner (so I don’t have to). I must say though that my partner Judy Patrick knows her square dancing moves and headed me in the right direction more than just a few times.

What’s happening with you or in the community? We’d love to hear about it if you would like to share. All news for next week has to be received by Monday evening in order to be published in the Thursday edition of the Transylvania Times
