WELCOME NEW RESIDENTS. We have brand new, full-time residents of Cedar Mountain. Hailing from Pennsylvania; please welcome Rodney & Vicki McDowell, and their 10-week-old Labradoodle puppy "Paisley" to beautiful Cedar Mountain. They have 5 grown children and 4 grandchildren who will be visiting our area in the future and enjoying the hiking & biking, shopping & dining, and everything else our community has to offer. If you don't get to meet them before the community meetings begin again, in April, we'll make sure you do then.Christine Pace visited with Vicki last weekend and says she'll soon make friends of everyone who meets her. "She is an adorable lady and looks too young, like me” says Christine (ahem) to have so many grandchildren."

TURN ON YOUR RADIO Rocky Hill Baptist Church broadcasts their Sunday morning service on radio station 87.9 FM live from 11 am to noon. There is about a 2-mile range in the signal. If you're unable to make it to your church service on Sunday, please tune in Dr, Leland Holland for your weekly inspiration.

UPDATE ON JOE Those keeping up with 81-year-old Joe Earl Pace will be happy to know he was able to receive his two day's of chemo treatments this last week, so is back on schedule. We are hoping that he will get a break from chemotherapy infusions for the summer after his 82nd birthday in April.

REMEMBER JANE.

A reminder, as it is a "milestone" year, to tell Jane Van Hook a big Happy Birthday if you see her this week. She heads up two kitchens in Cedar Mountain as a volunteer, whenever needed. That is at the Cedar Mountain Community Center monthly meetings and at Rocky Hill Baptist Church. And a great big "Thank you" to Jane.

AROUND THE HOUSE

My neighbor (JG) is such an inspiration. I like to repurpose and recycle things as much as possible and she came up with some great ideas for my old mailbox. I considered transforming it into a bird house, but it is a big mailbox and would have to be a mini condominium. Another idea was to use it as a wastebasket. I decided instead to convert it to an umbrella or walking stick stand. So happens my umbrella, walking stick and cane all fit nicely in it inside my front door. Now I have to get creative and decorate it. A yellow mailbox (on end) by my front door kinda’ sticks out but maybe that’s OK.

What’s happening with you or in the community? We’d love to hear what’s going on, if you would like to share.

All news for next week has to be received by Tuesday evening in order to be published in the Thursday edition of the Transylvania Times. Please send all news to cedarmountainnews@hotmail.com.
