CEDAR MOUNTAIN NEWS FOR PUBLICATION 2-13-25
GREAT NEWS
Vera Jones Stinson’s granddaughter, Gracelyn Stitzel, came to Cedar Mountain this weekend with her mother and sister for what she thought was a girl’s weekend. They visited the Pretty Place where Gracelyn was sitting on a bench when a man walked toward her who turned out to be her longtime boy friend who had driven down from Cincinnati. He got down on his knee and proposed. She said ‘yes’ and we are looking forward to a new member of the extended Solomon Jones family.

CEDAR MOUNTAIN CANTEEN
Owen Grooms’ Monday Music Series Presents: Bradford Carson February 17th 6-8pm
Join us for a night of music from Owen Grooms and Bradford Carson, otherwise known as The Steel String Regulators. Bradford is a multi-instrumentalist who plays everything from old-time to blues, jazz, and rock and roll. Many styles of music influence his sound simply because there is good music everywhere. Bradford was raised in Virginia and grew up singing, playing the piano, and listening to anything from Hendrix to Mozart. He gradually picked up brass instruments and strings while learning bits about theory and recording, eventually attending Musician’s Institute, Longwood University, and Virginia Commonwealth University. He has since been performing, teaching, and recording regionally.
AROUND THE HOUSE by Linda Packer Young
I had a package delivered promptly this morning and in the right spot out of the rain. This delivery service is not well known for this. I was happy to receive a new printer promptly since the other died after only 2 months. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this one hangs in there a little longer than that. Walmart is very good about accepting returns thank goodness.
