MCGHA CHAPEL ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CAROLING
The doors of the McGaha Chapel in Cedar Mountain will once again open to the public for the annual Christmas caroling. Decorated with mountain greenery, the chapel will be open to visitors on Sunday, December 1st at 1:30p and caroling will take place from 2:30p until 3:15p. Dress warmly as there is no heat in this beautiful old church building, once known as the Little River Methodist Chapel. It is located on US Hwy 276 South across from the Sherwood Forest entrance. Church goers in 1872 would have traveled on the Johnstone or Brevard Turnpike which ran behind the building and farther away from the Little River. US 276, originally NC 284, was not built until the late 1920s. Follow the signs along Hwy 276 to the parking lot and shuttles at the Robin Hood Center in Sherwood Forest. There is no parking available on the chapel grounds.
Following the sing-along homemade goodies, hot apple cider and coffee will be awaiting us in the warm
Robin Hood Center located across Hwy 276. Shuttles from the Center to the Chapel will begin at 1:45p and will return visitors to the Center and parking lot after the singing to enjoy the holiday refreshments. We look forward to singing with you!
This event is sponsored by the Transylvania Historical Society and the Sherwood Forest and Cedar Mountain Communities.
CEDAR MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION PIC
There was a large hungry crowd at Rocky Hill Baptist Churches Family Life Center Tuesday night. It was a joint effort by the community center and the church. We saw folks that haven’t been seen for awhile due to Helene. It was great to meet some newer folks too. The Feast tables were full to overflowing and barely a crumb was left after the line went through. There certainly are some great cooks in and around Cedar Mountain. Everything was wonderful. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

ANGELS IN THE PARKING LOT
I got lost on the way to a luncheon engagement last weekend. I had planned to be there 10 minutes early, but made a wrong turn. My GPS was no help. I pulled into a church parking lot and was fruitlessly fumbling with the blessed GPS when a car with two ladies pulled up and asked if I needed help. I wasn’t far from my destination as it turned out and arrived only 10 minutes late. If it hadn’t been for these Angels in the church parking lot I would have been a lot later. Thanks so much for your help kind ladies, it’s folks like you who make the world a better place.
