FOOD DISTRIBUTION 

The Cedar Mountain Hunger Coalition food distributions will be held Thursdays 2/20 and 3/20 from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.  For the months of February and March the Food Distribution will move to Cedar Mountain Baptist Church located at 7765 Greenville Highway, Cedar Mountain, NC. In addition to the distribution of free food, we will have a building full of clothing, house wares, and personal hygiene.  The Cedar Mountain Hunger Coalition food distribution will move back to the Cedar Mountain Community Center in April when the Center reopens.

BREAD OF LIFE MEALS

The Bread of Life will now be distributing full meals to go at the Highway 276 Moonshine location in Cedar Mountain. The meals are free to anyone, and no questions will be asked.  We have two sizes depending on your needs: small kits for a minimum of 2 individuals and large kits for a minimum of 4 individuals. The meal kits include pre-cooked protein, frozen and canned veggies, and an uncooked starch.  If anyone needs a meal, we are here for the community. The next distribution will be February 6th from 2:30 – 4 p.m. and the first Thursday of each month thereafter.

CEDAR MOUNTAIN BLOOD DRIVE 

A blood drive will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Cedar Mountain Fire Rescue Department at 8725 Cascade Lake Road in downtown Cedar Mountain. To make an appointment to give blood, download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767  Some drives may accept walk-ins, but they may have longer wait times.

We finally got our Infirmary (motor home) back after several weeks in the “shop”.  One swivel chair wouldn’t turn and had to have a cable replaced.  I mentioned awhile back that the lock on the door broke as well.  It took time to get the parts, but it is home again.  It certainly came in handy in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and we hope we don’t need to use it again in that capacity.
